  • Substantially sized cross with milgrain scroll work at each cardinal point and deeply engraved with a meandering Greek key motif
  • Centering round cut sapphire, bezel set in a cross formation, weighing in total approximately 3.08 carats
  • Well-matched and very dark greenish-blue in color
  • Unscrews at East, West, and South points; opens on a hinge to reveal cavity for reliquary
  • Completed by a coiled bale
  • Tested as 14 karat gold
  • Circa: 1880s
  • Measures: 2 3/4 x 4 3/8 inches
  • Total weight: 49.5 grams
